What a hypocrite

The treasurer Wayne Swan recently defended Cate Blanchett’s appearance in that dreadful “just say yes” ad. He said that “I admire anyone who stands up for their views”. And yet he and others in the government deride skeptics who stand up for their views. They are “deniers” because their views do not align with Swan’s. Does Swan only admire those who stand up for views which they endorse? Why is it okay for someone to support the economically suicidal carbon tax, but not to oppose it? Why is our deputy prime minister displaying such intolerance for the other side that simply doesn’t belong in a democratic society? What a massive hypocrite!

About Climate Nonconformist

Hi, I'm the climatenonconformist (not my real name), and I am a global warming skeptic, among the few in generation Y. With Australia facing the prospect of a carbon tax, we need to be asking the simple question; where is the evidence that our emissions are causing any dangerous warming?

Just so, so true. Don’t forget that Julia, too, calls skeptics “deniers”. Surely a prime minister should have more respect for the people she governs, than to call them names.

And remember how just the other day, Julia said that Tony Abbott doesn’t understand that the Labor government governs for ALL Australians? Doesn’t Julia understand that governing for all Australians should mean listening to and respecting ALL Australians, including those with whom she disagrees.
