A decision has just been made in the UK, the same UK who wants to cut their industry in half for the sake of global warming, to dump climate change from the national cirriculum. Meanwhile in Australia, they intend to continue subjecting children to Al Gore’s propaganda. The education minister and former head of the Australian Conservation Foundation, Peter Garrett has confirmed it will remain on the agenda.
When there is such widespread dissent in the scientific community towards this idea, then shouldn’t we refrain from converting children, or at least offer both sides of the argument? Instead, they learn about greenhouse gases and the impending greenhouse disaster, presented to them as fact. An Inconvenient Truth remains unchallenged in the classrooms, a film which is designed to persuade, using emotion as a vehicle. How are innocent children suppose to seperate the rhetoric from the facts? Oh, that’s right, there aren’t any important facts. When a child looks at Gores representation of the Vostok ice core data, and sees an extremely close correlation, how are they suppose to consider, maybe he’s got cause and effect the other way around, especially when Gore implies that it’s not?
I realise that Garrett is a bigger sucker for this kind of propaganda than most, and he genuinely believes there is a crisis, but logic and conscience tells us we shouldn’t be brainwashing children with this stuff.
