What is GetUp afraid of?

Fifty academics tried to have him censored. Then, GetUp pressured the Broncos club into cancelling his talk. Yes I am talking about Lord Monckton. Now the anti-free speech crowd have struck again. Yes, it is GetUp again, who this time pulled the plug on Monckton’s microphone as he spoke in Sydney. They have literally silenced debate by rendering dissent inaudible.

I know this is meant to be a youth organisation, but this is just plain juvenile. While is would serve only as a minor distraction, the intent from the GetUp thugs is not lost on us. They do not want Monckton to talk. This proves one thing to me. This man is dangerous for those on the left.

It can only be described as an assault on free speech, GetUp’s persistent attempts to silence their opponents. It is blatantly undemocratic and very much unAustralian. If they persist with this menacing behaviour, they can no longer be considered a legitimate activist organisation.

GetUp have proved what a threat to their world view Monckton is and in doing so drawn attention to his cause. Own goal dummies, well done.

About Climate Nonconformist

Hi, I'm the climatenonconformist (not my real name), and I am a global warming skeptic, among the few in generation Y. With Australia facing the prospect of a carbon tax, we need to be asking the simple question; where is the evidence that our emissions are causing any dangerous warming?
