No where to hide

Julia Gillard hasn’t been talking about her carbon tax lately, and no wonder. The thing is killing her and bringing down the once honourable labor party. But, what else is there to talk about?

The ‘anything but Nauru’, Malaysian solution is falling apart before their very eyes. The short-lived live cattle ban that achieved nothing from either perspective, has done irreparable damage. People are disinterested in their waste-of-money NBN, which will probably be redundant in a few years. There’s this government’s history of waste: school halls, pink batts and frivolous stimulus packages.

So, now they’re talking about high-speed rail for the east coast. Hey look, a distraction. Gillard even resorted to launching Christine Nixon’s new book, telling of her inspiring heroism.

Even if the carbon tax is off the agenda, changing the discussion isn’t going to help, given how this government has no note-worthy achievements and had bungled everything it has touched. There is no where for them to hide.

About Climate Nonconformist

Hi, I'm the climatenonconformist (not my real name), and I am a global warming skeptic, among the few in generation Y. With Australia facing the prospect of a carbon tax, we need to be asking the simple question; where is the evidence that our emissions are causing any dangerous warming?
