We love you, Tony

Greg Combet:

The federal government has taken aim at Tony Abbott, saying the Opposition Leader is the main impediment to Australia dealing with climate change.

That is certainly high praise indeed. Good onya, Tony. The fact is that Tony Abbott is the only thing standing between us and the carbon tax. If we had Turnbull, or Hockey in charge of the liberal party, than they would probably support the scheme/scam, and wouldn’t bother repealing it when in power.

“It has fundamentally been the destructive and opportunistic behaviour of the Leader of the Opposition that has impeded this Parliament dealing with this issue,” he said amid jeers from opposition MPs.

“He attacks the scientists, he attacks the economists, he runs a baseless fear campaign … he goes around terrifying pensioners, he makes false claims designed to frighten small business people.”

Baseless? So Combet can guarantee no jobs will be lost and prices will not rise? And when has Abbott ever attacked any scientists? I would say that when Combet uses the word “denier“, he is attacking all skeptics, including the scientists opposed to the mainstream.

The Age article goes on to say:

(Jenny Macklin) said the opposition planned to “claw back” an increase to the pension that would compensate for any cost-of-living increases caused by the carbon tax.

He also plans to “claw back” the carbon tax that necessitates the compensation.

About Climate Nonconformist

Hi, I'm the climatenonconformist (not my real name), and I am a global warming skeptic, among the few in generation Y. With Australia facing the prospect of a carbon tax, we need to be asking the simple question; where is the evidence that our emissions are causing any dangerous warming?
