Come clean, Tony

Is Tony Abbott a skeptic? Does anyone know for sure? Does he know for sure? He is on the record as saying the science behind climate change is “crap”. Now he tells us he’s a believer, and is pushing a pointless direct action policy. I, and I’m sure many other Australians, are unconvinced by this sudden change of heart.

He could well be prime minister sometime as early as next year. We have a right to know where he stands on the global warming issue. I suspect he is a skeptic, and that the reason he’s beating around the bush is the fear of a voter backlash. But, would admitting to being a skeptic really be that bad for him?

Warmists are still in the majority, but it is shrinking. People are fed up with environmental issues, a trend assited by alarmist propaganda. Cost of living is the highest priority for most people. His opposite number is dreadfully incompentent and the people who are most likely to be turned away already hate his guts. I don’t think it’s going to hurt him at all.

Abbott is almost certain to become prime minister within the next two years. While would be better than the incumbent prime minister, I am concerned by his lack of conviction on this issue. He’s best coming clean now, in order to better represent the views of skeptics in Australia.

About Climate Nonconformist

Hi, I'm the climatenonconformist (not my real name), and I am a global warming skeptic, among the few in generation Y. With Australia facing the prospect of a carbon tax, we need to be asking the simple question; where is the evidence that our emissions are causing any dangerous warming?

I believe that Tony Abbott is walking a tightrope in the Liberal Party, there are clearly some, particularly Malcolm Turnbull who would like to replace him, and so Tony Abbott is being ‘politically correct’ when he says that he believes the ‘science of climate change’. In fact the ‘Science’ says that the theory of Co2 causing global warming is incorrect. Climate changes are not affected by anything human beings are doing, according to the science we are going through a global cooling stage right now because of Sun Spots.

    • Frances, you are spot on; not Turnbull, but Greg Hunt and Chris Payne; they are all ABC’s Trojan Brummbies in the semi-honest party. On the second subject, I have to correct you. There was no any GLOBAL warming – now is no Global cooling. Just warmth and coldness shift places. If sunspots and CO2 were affecting the climate – in northern Australia and in Brazil would have being same climate. Same sunspots, same CO2, but complete contrast in climate.

If you want to know which climate is good, ask the trees – they are on the open. Sunspots are used as a back-door exit for the Warmist – Skeptics are assisting them. Billions have being squandered, to prevent the phony GLOBAL warming. People go to jail for $1000. Because the Skeptics are opening lots of back-doors for the Warmist = they are not in a hurry to spit the dummy, and never intend to. If you people help me in informing the people what is on my website – half of the leading Warmist will spit the dummy – the other half will take a runner. I have all the solid proofs. Please help anyway you can: http://globalwarmingdenier.wordpress.com .

Regardless of what Tony believes – I’m a sceptic btw – when he becomes PM, he should first divert whatever money is necessary, from his proposed CO2 mitigation, toward paying the costs of undoing Gillard’s carbon tax. I think only the Labor/Greens will complain, but they will complain anyway.

    • Frances Makarova says:

I agree with you Sean 100% about that. I have been out the last 2 weeks with Senator Mitch Fifield and some of the Liberal Victorian Politicians, Sophie Mirrabella and Lorraine Wreford, and others collection signatures on a petition to get rid of the Carbon Tax.to present to Parliament. We will probably be doing it again this Saturday morning, in Bourke St. Melbourne. As long as we are permitted. If any of you will there you might like to make yourself known and sign it.

      • Sean McHugh says:

Thanks Frances. I am hoping that the suggestion will find its way to Abbott.

On Saturday I will be in Windsor NSW at my niece’s wedding. I wish you luck with your petition and thank you for the invitation.

  3. Time to level, Tony. says:

well said – comment number 1 has an interesting angle on the persistence of the ‘direct action’ policy. I would love it if the Coalition just came out Perry-like and just said CAGW is a hoax and a scam and altered their environment policy accordingly. I don’t think they would lose votes, probably the opposite.

  4. Frances Makarova says:

I think there are some members of the Liberal Party who do believe in the Science, or perhaps Tony Abbott hasn’t bothered to actually check it out. But I do wish that he would come out and tell us what he really believes and not toe the ‘party line’ of the warmists. Unfortunately you can’t have it both ways. It is either ‘Global Warming is true’ or Global Warming is a con.” My opinion is that it is a con. But Tony Abbott is probably afraid to check it out. I just want the Libs if they win the next election to overturn the ‘Carbon Tax’.

    • Climate Nonconformist says:

I think you’re right in that Abbott hasn’t looked much into the topic. You listen to Barnaby Joyce on the other hand, and you can tell he’s actually done his homework.
