Climate Fool of the Week #18

When the 10:10 clip depicting exploding skeptical children was released, even warmists were disgusted. Grist had also ran a video with a similar theme, ‘How to strangle a climate skeptic’. Surely then the climate activists would have learnt to avoid the portrayal of violence with those they disagree with. Or not…

While it’s not about warmists taking revenge on skeptics, making this one slightly less disturbing, no doubt many warmists will delight in its contents. Mother nature getting back at those filthy deniers, perhaps. The World Wildlife Fund (the recipients of this week’s Climate Fool award) end the video with the line “Climate Change doesn’t need you to believe in it”. This seems to be an attempt to sway skeptics towards their side, but clearly no skeptic is dumb enough to watch this and think they are going to burn alive if they don’t start believing. I think the WWF will find reason will work better to win over skeptics. Perhaps starting with some evidence.

Dishonourable mention to Richard Muller for his attempt to backtrack on his claim that “but now let me explain why you should not be a skeptic, at least not any longer.”

I never said you shouldn’t be a skeptic. I never said that.”

Yes you did, Richard. Yes you did.

Speaking of back flips, Mitt Romney gets a dishonourable mention for his ambiguous stance on global warming. You want to be president of the United States, show some conviction.

A last dishonourable mention to Peter Boyer for entertaining the idea of charging skeptics with crimes against humanity. It is a “satisfying” idea, according to this bloke. The actions of the nazis in the holocaust, the Rwanda killings, and other genocidal policies constitute crimes against humanity. Is this bloke seriously so daft as to liken them to a group of people who like to ask for evidence?

About Climate Nonconformist

Hi, I'm the climatenonconformist (not my real name), and I am a global warming skeptic, among the few in generation Y. With Australia facing the prospect of a carbon tax, we need to be asking the simple question; where is the evidence that our emissions are causing any dangerous warming?

  1. Allen Ford says:

I would like to nominate Paul Biegler, Australian Research Council postdoctoral fellow in bioethics at Monash University, for his marathon thought bubble in The Age on December 20, “Climate sceptics might just be captive to basic emotions”. They don’t come any more vacuous than this!
