Carbon tax to hit small time emitters

Turns out the 500 companies to be hit with the carbon tax encompasses a pretty broad spectrum.

CITY councils, water authorities, a university and Melbourne’s glitzy Crown Casino are among at least 250 entities to pay the carbon tax from July 1.

The list of liable companies, released today, is dominated by big miners, manufacturers, energy companies, foundries and aluminium smelters.

But it also includes the Wagga Wagga and Brisbane City Councils, Melbourne’s La Trobe University, and Bega Cheese producer Tatura Milk.

They are taxing cheese, people. This cannot stand.

About Climate Nonconformist

Hi, I'm the climatenonconformist (not my real name), and I am a global warming skeptic, among the few in generation Y. With Australia facing the prospect of a carbon tax, we need to be asking the simple question; where is the evidence that our emissions are causing any dangerous warming?
